WHO WE ARE

Dave Beal

Cofounder, Dave Beal has been teaching at Windsor High School for twelve years. He has been teaching art in public schools for twenty-eight. A graduate of the University of Hawaii, he taught on Oahu for a year before moving to Atlanta to start a family. He taught there for fifteen years at two Fulton County schools, receiving teacher of the year honors at both.  He was also awarded the Georgia Elementary Art Educator of the Year by the Georgia Art Educators Association. He currently teaches two sections of introductory art, the focus area sections for the Nueva School for the Arts, and serves as the school's yearbook adviser. ​

John Richards

John Richards has been teaching at Windsor High School for four years.  He began his career in education as a Social Studies teacher in the Nueva School for the Arts.  John graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts, and a Masters Degree in History, and completed the credential program in 2014.   He currently teaches US History, Economics, and Government in the NUEVA School for the  Arts, and Nueva is so fortunate to have him in the program.

Allison attended the Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington in 1998 and graduated from Sonoma State University in 2004 with a degree in American Multicultural Studies. She holds four teaching credentials: Multiple Subject, Single Subject (English, Dance, Physical Education) and Designated subjects for the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industry sector .  She completed an Masters Degree in Educational Technology at CSUF in 2017 where she received the Elwin Carr Fellow for excellence in educational leadership. Allison began her career in education as a district intern with Windsor Unified School District where she has worked for 15 years. She founded and directs Windsor High School's Dance Program, and the Nueva School for the Arts, a California Partnership Academy and demonstration site for the California Department of Education. In addition to teaching, she currently works as Career Technical Education coordinator and professional coach, is a member of the WUSD arts strategic planning and LCAP committees, and works closely with the California Department of Education on the state advisory board for the Arts Media and Entertainment industry sector. She was selected as the Region 1 Educator of the year for 2017 by the California League of High School Educators and recently launched a nonprofit Arts Education organization called Pulse Arts.

Cofounder, Chris Vetrano worked in the field of education for eighteen years before retiring from her administrative position in 2015. She holds credentials in English, Art, Social Studies and Chemistry. Her Master's Degree in Education from Sonoma State University is in Curriculum and Instruction. Before coming to Windsor Unified, she taught in Santa Rosa City Schools where she started the successful ArtQuest program at Santa Rosa High School.  In 1999 she joined the Windsor High School staff where she was an English teacher in the Digital Communications program for five years and was an administrator for seven years.
